WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU           

Please keep in mind that you will be housed in the SCGSAH Residence Hall, in dormitory suites and NOT a hotel.  

Luggage cart or rolling cart (for moving in and outit is a long and winding road into the dorm) 

Bedding:  Pillow and pillow case Standard twin bed sheets; comforter or blanket

Towels and wash cloth, Bath matToiletries (soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc)Band-aids, first aid cream, pain reliever KleenexIce chest, soft drinks or bottled water, snacks

Change for vending machines and laundry facilities           

Desk or floor lamp (the only light in dorm rooms is florescent on the wall)Alarm clock   Small fan       Extension Cord       Hair dryer

Cell phone (no phones are provided in dorm rooms) 

aptop or other computer (computers will also be available throughout campus)

Jump Drive to save lesson and written work

Copy of your teaching certificate (for course credit)  

GENERAL INFORMATION 

·         Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included with your registration

·         Early morning coffee will be provided daily in the lobby of the dorm for early risers.

·         SCGSAH is a smoke-free campus. There are no designated smoking areas on campus.

·         Alcohol is strictly prohibited.

·         Anticipate changes in weather – pack rain gear, umbrella, etc.

·         The campus is adjacent to the beautiful Falls Park – pack your walking shoes.

·         All visitors on campus must wear ID badges. These will be provided on the day of arrival.

·         All ID’s and dorm keys must be returned at check out.

·         The campus offers wireless access, and computer labs will also be open during the week of the institute. For computer access in dorm rooms, bring a network (Ethernet) cable.

·         Coin-operated laundry facilities are available.

·         No medical staff will be on site during the institute; information will be provided about local healthcare facilities

·         Please Note:  The beds are elevated!  (Remember High School students live here!) If you have any health issues that will make climbing in and out of bed difficult please consider putting the mattress on floor or bring a small stool or step ladder with you.  It is disorienting to wake up in the middle of the night and be 3 feet off the ground!  Safety first!
